Brittney Griner made headlines with her over-the-rim dunks, but now she’s back in the news for an entirely different, and much more disappointing, reason. In a game against Texas Tech, Griner let her temper get the best of her and she cold cocked her guard Jordan Barncastle. Barncastle had fouled Griner while guarding her, and while moving away from Griner, Griner hauled back and punched her in the face.
Griner was ejected from the game with 9 minutes left on the clock. This was after a previous 21 points scored by her during the game.
There was really no call for what happened on that court. I’m sure this woman’s teammates are quite embarrassed over her actions.
“There’s no place for that in sports,” Mulkey said. “It was ugly for women’s basketball. It was ugly that coaches were on the court, that benches cleared, and I will take care of that with my team.”
When news of Tiger Woods’ infidelity first hit the airwaves, Elin didn’t make any comments about divorcing her straying hubby. Actually she stayed pretty silent about the whole thing. But, unsurprisingly, rumor hit that she was in fact divorcing the golf superstar. Elin had even gone ahead and removed her wedding ring from her finger.
However, it looks like perhaps she has changed her mind. RadarOnline has this story:
Elin spent last week visiting Tiger, and participating in his sex addiction rehab treatment, RadarOnline.com reported exclusively.
And while Elin had made up her mind to dump her husband after he was linked to more than 14 women and his secret life of cheating revealed, time – and Tiger’s actions – have caused her to call off the divorce for now.
She returned to Orlando Sunday night by private jet after spending last week with Tiger. “She was happy when she came home,” a source told RadarOnline.com exclusively. “Things went well.”
Elin has not filed divorce papers but has explored her options. Tiger sought treatment to save his marriage and so far it’s working
, the source said.
“He’s told her he’s serious about making it work and doing whatever he can,” the source said. (RadarOnline)
This video shows two jockeys just going at it during a horse race. They’re perched on top of their horses run pell-mell down the track, boxed in on all sides, throwing punches and whipping each other with their crops.
While it is not confirmed, rumor has it that that Tiger Woods has been checked into a sex-addiction clinic in South Africa. He is said to be on a six week program that costs £5,000 – a week. That’s some high-dollar help he’s got there.
However, this news still remains a rumor. The head of the facility, Johnny Graaff, neither confirms or denies Tiger’s presence at the clinic. Naturally when someone won’t tell the press one way or the other, it means the guy’s there. And the evidence points in that direction.
Over the holiday season, celebrity spotters reportedly saw Tiger land in Cape Town in a private jet. They believe they saw him go straight to the addiction facility. Then yesterday personnel from, not one, but two security firms were seen patrolling the property.
If that doesn’t say “celebrity client here!” in big billboard letters, then I don’t know what does.
So do you think that Tiger really has a sex addiction? It sure does sound like a convenient excuse to explain away his behaviour to me.
Wow, what a jerk! This guys steals twenty bucks from some poor woman – as if he needed twenty bucks from anybody. You know he just did it because he felt he could, and it helped him feel big and bad. Lynch is a running back for the Buffalo Bills! What does he need to make him feel important??
Apparently swiping pocket change from ladies.
The incident occurred Dec. 7, at the TGI Friday’s at McKinley Mall, where the detective sergeant’s wife and her girlfriend had stopped before heading home.
After hearing what happened, Crawford said he went the next day to the Hamburg Police Department and filed a complaint against Lynch.
Hamburg police declined to comment but confirmed that Crawford made a complaint.
Crawford asked that his wife’s name be withheld because she and her girlfriend are frightened of retribution from Lynch.
Crawford said his wife’s girlfriend was approached at the restaurant by another member of the Buffalo Bills, who struck up a conversation with the unmarried woman. At some point, Lynch arrived at the restaurant and joined them.
When the woman’s girlfriend stepped away from the table, Crawford said his wife pulled out a $20 bill to pay their check in preparation for leaving.
Lynch, 23, of Hamburg, then grabbed the money from her hand.
“He takes the $20 out of her hand, and my wife says “What are you doing?’ and Lynch says “Don’t worry.’ When my wife’s girlfriend came back to the table, she told her about it. The girlfriend approached Lynch and said, “Give my friend her money back,’ and Lynch threatened her saying “Do you know who I am? There’s going to be consequences.’
“At that point, my wife and her girlfriend left,” Crawford said.
Crawford said he filed the complaint the next day with Hamburg police, and about 10 days later, a letter with $20 arrived at their home from the police.
This full page color ad appeared in Chicago’s major newspapers. It’s an apology to the fans. The Bears wanted to show their appreciation to their fans for sticking with them despite the horrific season filled with tragic playing.
But words are cheap (unless they are printed in color on a full page), so let’s see the Bears put their money were their mouth is.
Over the New Year’s holiday, the Edmonton Oilers racked up a substantial bill at the Osteria de Medici, a fine Italian restaurant. They spent the evening eating and drinking, and just downright partying. Perfectly normal for a New Year’s Eve celebration.
But when the bill came, the team choked on it. They discovered they managed to eat and drink $18,000 worth of the restaurant’s fine fare.
The team threw a fit and refused to pay the entire bill, claiming that, by their math, it should only have come to approximately $12,000. The owner, Maurizio Terrigno, claims that the team even tried to pull the “do you know who we are” line when he insisted they pay the bill, fair and square.
Yeah, cause that kind of comment always results in instant respect. Ahem.
In 2007, Eraelia Glisson was caught hosting a party. But what made this party of particular interest to the police wasn’t the noise level. Glisson was hosting a party for her Bobby Sox softball team – and giving the underage members alcohol.
She pleaded no contest to the allegations and spent 90 days in jail with 3 years probation.
Evidently this ex-coach hasn’t learned her lesson.
Now, 2 years later, she has been arrested for having sexual relations with a minor – a 16 year-old boy. To make things worse for herself, a video of her actions and drugs were found at the scene.
Not smart, Eralia, not smart. With her history of alcohol related crimes, I don’t think things will go as easy for her this time around.
In an earlier post, I mentioned the fact that the NFL has been doing all it can to deny the allegations that their players are beginning to suffer long-term effects from the concussions that are common on the playing field. Evidence has been steadily building in favor of the claim that the players are suffering from adverse health effects, but the organization didn’t want to accept that truth. I suppose it wouldn’t look very good for them.
However, the NFL could only deny the facts for so long. Their official spokesperson, Greg Aiello, stated in a phone interview that the NFL, in fact, agreed with the facts, and publicly announced their stance.
“It’s quite obvious from the medical research that’s been done that concussions can lead to long-term problems,” the league spokesman Greg Aiello said in a telephone interview. He was discussing how the league could donate $1 million or more to the Center for the Study of Traumatic Encephalopathy at Boston University, whose discoveries of brain damage commonly associated with boxers in the brains of deceased football players were regularly discredited by the N.F.L.
