It’s a Toss

We are all familiar with seeing chairs thrown during a wrestling match, but I can’t say I often see them tossed around at a baseball game. But Frank Francisco didn’t let the stereotype stop him. During a 2004 game in Oakland, California, Francisco let his temper get the better of him. As fans are often wont to do, a group was heckling Francisco’s team. Apparently he couldn’t handle the criticism and grabbed a plastic chair that was bing used by the ball boys. He threw it into the crowd, striking a man and a woman. Jennifer Bueno, 41, was struck ini the temple and needed stitches. She later prosecuted against Francisco.

“There is no justification for what they did,” Gwilliam said. “Fans are fans and they have a right to have some fun and do some badgering if they want.” (source)
