Michael Vick to see NFL Commissioner
For those of you that don’t remember, Michael Vick was convicted of running a dog fighting operation and was placed in a federal pen. His future in football is uncertain. We will be surprised if he has a future in the NFL.
Commissioner Roger Goodell is beginning to focus on evaluating suspended quarterback Michael Vick’s future in the NFL. That doesn’t mean a decision will come any time before the 2009 regular season begins in September.
More SportsGoodell said Thursday his decision on whether to reinstate the former Atlanta Falcon, convicted on federal charges of running a dogfighting ring, will come “in due time.” He was released from federal prison in Kansas on May 20.
The commissioner said he will not sit down with Vick until after the quarterback is released July 20 from home confinement and federal custody, so he could not address whether he has seen signs in Vick of remorse and contrition – a condition to his possible re-instatement.
When asked if the season starting would become a factor in his decision, Goodell, who has set no timeline, reiterated “in due time.”
There are a few other countries that Mr. Vick might consider. Japan has a league.
