Referee at a football game ends on a bad note when an angry player smashes his helmet into the man, breaking nearly every bone in his face.

Wow, this is just outrageous. The man could have died. And the entire team is protecting the guy who did this? If anything, the coach should be honor-bound to say something. One of his players destroyed a man’s health and ruined his love of the game – that player should have consequences for his actions.
