When news of Tiger Woods’ infidelity first hit the airwaves, Elin didn’t make any comments about divorcing her straying hubby. Actually she stayed pretty silent about the whole thing. But, unsurprisingly, rumor hit that she was in fact divorcing the golf superstar. Elin had even gone ahead and removed her wedding ring from her finger.

However, it looks like perhaps she has changed her mind. RadarOnline has this story:

Elin spent last week visiting Tiger, and participating in his sex addiction rehab treatment, RadarOnline.com reported exclusively.

And while Elin had made up her mind to dump her husband after he was linked to more than 14 women and his secret life of cheating revealed, time – and Tiger’s actions – have caused her to call off the divorce for now.

She returned to Orlando Sunday night by private jet after spending last week with Tiger. “She was happy when she came home,” a source told RadarOnline.com exclusively. “Things went well.”

Elin has not filed divorce papers but has explored her options. Tiger sought treatment to save his marriage and so far it’s working

“He’s told her he’s serious about making it work and doing whatever he can,” the source said. (RadarOnline)

Oh how the mighty have fallen. Will Tiger ever recover from the media storm that has hit him so ferociously?

The problem here with good ol’ Tiger is that he had placed himself on a virtuous pedestal. He always had charities and good deeds coming from every angle. When you do that, you set yourself up for a hard fall. That is, if you happen to be sneaking around doing activities that are surely to get you in the public eye – and not in the good way.

Such as it went with Tiger.

He really had it all. Amazing talents that led to an amazing career, a shining reputation that he (seemed) to use for good, and a beautiful wife and family – not to mention plenty of cash from tournaments and hefty endorsements. And he traded it all to have, not one, not two, but 10 affairs.

Seriously, he had to know that kind of thing would get out eventually. Does he watch the tabloids at all? They’re just waiting to get their hands on something as juicy as this. The instant Tiger hit that fire hydrant, the media was on it. We’ve all seen this sort of thing before – no attempts to hide the truth or cover up inconvenient facts was going to get by the public. Nice try Tiger.

Since the story of Tiger’s accident hit the front pages it all just kept getting better and better over the week. First we heard about one affair – the one that started the whole fight that night – and we all weren’t too surprised (even if it was Tiger Woods we were talking about). Then another mistress came out of the woodwork.

That raised a few eyebrows.

Then another, and another! I don’t think my eyebrows can get any higher!

The count seems to finally have settled at 10 different mistresses, all who didn’t know about the others. Where does the man find the time?

However, in the end, Tiger couldn’t balance it all. I mean, his wife had to get suspicious eventually right? (Especially when you’re practically texting your mistress right in front of her) In a classic blunder, Tiger left some amazingly trackable pieces of evidence leading right to his affairs. We’re all familiar now with him asking Jaimee Grubbs to remove her name, since he thought his wife would be calling her. Nice.

Of course she promptly sold him down the river by selling that sweet voice mail clip.

Don’t forget the dozens of text messages sent to the first woman accused of sleeping with Tiger, Rachel Uchitel. Tsk tsk, Tiger. You really did it to yourself there. Don’t you know that text messages are easily saved for later viewing? Something tells me that if you don’t want people knowing certain information, don’t send said info in a text message.

Not smart.

There you have it. For a little (or a lot) extra nookie on the side, Tiger risked it all. Word has it that Gatorade has dumped his Tiger Focus product. Gatorade claims that they had already planned to discontinue that line, but I personally find the timing to be suspicious.

However, the latest I heard, Tiger’s wife Elin Nordegren does not have plans to divorce him, stating that she came from a divorced home and that she didn’t want to do that to her children. If that’s the case, I’m sure that Tiger will be on the receiving end of a pretty cold shoulder.

Only time will tell how this escapade will pan out for the famous golfer. Perhaps, in the end, the story will peter out and Tiger can go about his business of winning tournaments and helping children. Maybe he will even continue to get big name sponsors and endorsement deals. Who knows? Publicity can be so fickle.

One thing I do know – the public may forgive Tiger’s indiscretions, but it won’t forget.

As far as sports stars go, Tiger Woods has managed to stay out of the scandalous limelight that all inevitably hit – until now. First we hear about him getting himself into a spot of car trouble in his own driveway, managing to hit a fire hydrant and jam his SUV into a tree. We all heard of his wife’s heroic actions that supposedly saved his life.

The trouble is we’ve all heard things like this before. And naturally it wasn’t long before people began speculating that there was more to this story than met the eye. It didn’t take long before allegations of a romantic affair hit the airwaves. Suddenly things began making a little more sense.

Hmmm..so that’s why Tiger’s wife just happened to have that golf club. Was she really swinging it at the window, or was she aiming for Tiger’s head?

Of course, the “other girl” has denied ever being romantically involved with Woods. But for any of us regularly checking the gossip pages will know that more often than not those denials turn out to be false. I certainly won’t be surprised if we do eventually get confessions telling all about an affair.

Until Tiger fesses up, this is his official statement of the incident:

As you all know, I had a single-car accident earlier this week, and sustained some injuries. I have some cuts, bruising and right now I’m pretty sore.

This situation is my fault, and it’s obviously embarrassing to my family and me. I’m human and I’m not perfect. I will certainly make sure this doesn’t happen again.

This is a private matter and I want to keep it that way. Although I understand there is curiosity, the many false, unfounded and malicious rumors that are currently circulating about my family and me are irresponsible.

The only person responsible for the accident is me. My wife, Elin, acted courageously when she saw I was hurt and in trouble. She was the first person to help me. Any other assertion is absolutely false.

This incident has been stressful and very difficult for Elin, our family and me. I appreciate all the concern and well wishes that we have received. But, I would also ask for some understanding that my family and I deserve some privacy no matter how intrusive some people can be. (source)

John Daly isn’t just known for his drive or his short game. Many people know him for his escapades off the course instead. Wikipedia once again provides a nice little summary for Daly’s less savory side. Probably Daly’s two worst offenses would be his alcoholism and tremendous gambling problem.

Daly once claimed that he drank a fifth of Jack Daniel’s every day during the year he was 23 years of age, and the various reported incidents include being removed from a British Airways airplane by airport security for harassing a flight attendant while drunk. He has entered into various alcohol addiction programs, including the Betty Ford Clinic, at least three times, and has experienced three divorces since becoming a professional golfer.

In May 1993, he was upset by his opening round at the Kemper Open, threw his scoring card in the scoring tent, walked off, and was disqualified. In late 1993, Daly was given an indefinite suspension for 1994 after quitting in the middle of the Kapalua International and told to seek treatment for his alcoholism. He was at first suspended for the first 12 tournaments of the 1994 season, but he came a few weeks earlier than expected and played in the Honda Classic, finishing fourth. These incidents resulted in a stretch between 1996 and 2001 without a professional victory. During this stretch, Daly was especially known for having spectacular blow-up holes near the end of rounds such as knocking multiple balls into water or out-of-bounds for a double-digit score or hitting a ball while it was still moving and then walking off the course. During the 1998 Greater Vancouver Open, Daly was visibly shaking as he tried to play, causing the television announcers to audibly wince at the sight.

In March 2008, Daly’s swing coach Butch Harmon quit, saying that “the most important thing in [Daly's] life is getting drunk.”[5]

On Sunday, October 26, 2008, Daly was taken into protective custody by Winston-Salem police after he was found drunk outside an area Hooters restaurant.[6]

Due to John Daly’s various drinking escapades, the alcoholic drink consisting of sweet tea-flavored vodka and lemonade (also called a Dirty Arnold Palmer) is often referred to as a John Daly.[7]

In 2006, Daly revealed in the last chapter of his autobiography that he has had great difficulty with a gambling problem.[1] He claims to have lost between US$50 and $60 million over the past 15 years. This includes losing $1.5 million in October 2005, after winning half that amount at the WGC-American Express tournament, most of it lost on $5,000 Las Vegas slot machines.[8] Daly has been able to pay his gambling debts mostly through making more paid public appearances and through sponsorships opportunities.

Watch Daly in action as he goes shoe and shirtless against a TV reporter.
