Only a couple posts ago I covered Marlon King and his incredibly jerk-tastic actions. He’s never been known for being a footballing good boy, having already been imprisoned for theft. He has been convicted for 14 offenses since 1997. That many convictions sure does show that he likes to make court an annual event.

His most recent, of course, was him punching a 20 year-old woman in the face after she yelled at him when he grabbed her inappropriately (ahem, he is married). Now the poor girl, Emily Carr, has cast aside her anonymity to make sure the public can get a good look at the abuse that sports stars are often allowed to get away with.

The Wigan Athletic player [Marlon King], who was celebrating both his wife’s pregnancy and scoring a winning goal hours earlier, was repeatedly ”cold-shouldered” by women revellers in London’s packed Soho Revue Bar last December.

When a slightly-built university student became the latest to recoil from his touch, he lost his temper and in an outburst of “completely gratuitous violence” lashed out, “smashing” her to the floor.

His single clenched fist blow was so powerful that two other revellers – one of them holding on to his arm – were also sent flying.

While bouncers moved in to restrain the muscular £5 million striker, friends rushed to the aid of his victim.

As she was helped to her feet, blood poured from her shattered nose, London’s Southwark Crown Court heard.

The 29-year-old Wigan Athletic player, from Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire, claimed he was a victim of “mistaken identity”.

But after hearing overwhelming evidence from a string of witnesses, including a football coach who insisted he was the assailant, the jury decided he was lying.

He was unanimously convicted of sexually assaulting the 20-year-old and causing actual bodily harm. Read on…

Wow. What a way to celebrate your wife being pregnant. Going out to party and trying to get a little tail – because that just says baby romance to me. When all the women don’t want anything to do with this jerk, he gets mad. And punches a woman. Nice move jerk. Now you look really good.

The story only gets worse, and yet again shows that if you play a celebrity sport, you can get away with anything. The night club were this little indiscretion happened pretended to call the cops and just let King walk out. Words fail me on how wrong that is.
